January generosity

January generosity

January has been a generous month so far.  I'm now well into my ranch/ studio retreat time, and starting to feel the rhythm that a creative routine cultivates.  Showing up.  Making the work.  Every day.  Feeding animals, walking dogs, making tea and stepping into the studio.  This daily practice is lifting my judgement, fear and uncertainty.  I can feel my left brain retreat.. as my right brain blossoms under the influence of music, nature, charcoal in hand, paint on brush.   Because all there is to do right now is show up, and do something.  So grateful for this time and space.   I can feel the textures of the forest sensitizing my skin, the wind animating my breath, the sun brightening my vision, the river pulsing through my veins.  Meanwhile, 3 horses, 12 chickens, 2 dogs and a cat warm and fill the depths of my heart.  And I feel so alive amidst these daily practices of interrelatedness and creativity.
